We listened to Waterloo Sunset
as we drove home,
triumphant.

The words were meshed together
with the Winter Hill scenery–
the blue and white sign
of the Winter Hill bank.

I could only imagine how many times
it had been knocked over—
all along the background was the sounds
of Waterloo Sunset.

My friend had just gotten over
Delirium,
brought on by an overworked, agitated
mind.

They were driving me home.
tired, spent like change.
the Winter Hill wind
sifting through the windows.

All along listening to the manic
vocals
while another friend
waited in the cold at Sullivan,

to be whisked away to his haunted home.
