The Perfect Crime

Fingers tighten around
the swan’s graceful throat
the leftover heart thrown
to the impatient crown
the unremembered plume
settles upon the ashen mantle
camouflage complete.

This dandruff memory
scratchy snowflakes

she brought a broken
present of disease to the

bloody birthday party
but who could say No

when it was wrapped
so lovely nicely?

Lindsay McLeod trips over the horizon every morning. He has won several prizes and awards and stuff for poetry and short fiction and published his first co-authored poetry collection, My Almost Heart, in 2015. He currently writes on the sandy Southern edge of the world, where he watches the sea and the sky wrestle for supremacy at his letterbox. He prefers to support the underdog. It is presently an each way bet.

Allison Goldin is an artist living in California. Her work is a collection of spontaneous drawings from the imagination. The most common link throughout her art are the semi-recognizable creatures scattered amongst and bringing together the surrounding doodles.
