Brother, I am proud of you. Today you have found the love of your life, and I wish you the best of luck.
Growing up five years apart was difficult. We were always on two different plains. When I was five, you were ten. When I was ten you were fifteen. We never had that closeness that brothers do. But then again we did. Sometimes you would show me how to work on your car. I would stand out there in the freezing cold, watching you tool around on that big gmc clunker you had. I remember one time when you came home from a car accident. I remember how bad I felt knowing that the day before we were fighting and then you came home with your head all banged up. I felt so bad for you. I remember thinking how awesome it was when you told me about how you defended yourself against some punk kid when you were in high school, (with a towel dispenser awesome!). And what about the time you punched that kid in the face after having him role down his window, for being such a dirtbag. These things I would never do, and I remember these things. I remember taking your tapes, like Murphy’s Law and the Mighty Mighty Bosstones. I remember stealing your records and listening to them. I was kind of a handful and I know that. But one thing is certain I have always been proud to call you my brother. I can’t even count how many times we would go fishing, and you would untangle my lines for me. That was windchime.
As we grew up we became closer. You were always there for me. You would help me when I was in any kind of jam. And when I was diagnosed bi-polar you never made fun of it. I appreciate that. And as time drifted away as it tends to do, I got sicker, and you still were there for me.
I will remember these things forever, everything you have ever done for me.
Today, on your wedding day, I am happy to know that you found someone as sweet as Nicole, and that you have made a happy family. I am proud of you more then I am of myself. I wish you the best of luck, and hope only for your happiness.
To you Jonny boy, have the best day, you earned it.
Thanks for always being there for me, and if you ever need anything, I owe you, and will be there for you. Congratulations!!!
