I believe Old Wives’ Tales.
These repeated cures thought superstitious born from experimentation mixing faith with survival.
The lab’s floor poverty and its walls abandonment.
Life and Lives with needs met by self sufficency.
Life and Lives lost by greed and lies told by society.
Yes. I boil.
I pray with cloth.
I watch directions 4 times counterclockwise on 1 toe in tongues.
I HONOR the secrets passed on and do not allow time or what others deem progress to cause me to forget.

This has always been our way.
This will always be our way.

Co-existing with modern medicine and amused cynicism.
“I Love You” is the whisper each time I act the counsel of an Elder’s great-great-great-Grandmother.
I believe Old Wives’ Tales.
Our Mothers mean us no Harm.
