“I never thought I would have had an opportunity when I was young, but I loved sharing music with people. I am a lover of music and dance since a child in dance class throughout my youth. Music is life. It will always be part of my life. I welcome any opportunity to share and create.”
Decorated Diva of Boston’s Underground and Independent Hip-hop, Rap, R&B, Reggae and Spoken Word Poetry scenes, New England Representative for The JDilla Foundation and The Massachusetts Chapter Leader for the Universal Zulu Nation, DJ Nomadik is a true pioneer and legend. As founder of Soulkore Productions, she has contributed stage, mic and dancefloor to Boston and beyond since the turn of the millennium and, before that, DJ Nomadik was the voice and musical programmer for WERS and other local radio stations giving Boston its dose of classic beats, rhymes and rhythms.
On Thursday, June 4th, Nomadik and Soulkore return to the Milky Way in Jamaica Plain with their annual Tribute to Prince. Beginning at 9 p.m., and in true Soulkore fashion, an open mic backed by a live band will be center stage for everyone who signs up by 9:30 p.m. Singers, poets, rappers, orators, Soulkore, DJ Nomadik and host Essex invite and welcome you!
Following the open mic, DJ Nomadik will give Prince Lovers the Love of Prince with a special dance party playing Prince and his protégé’s music throughout the night. Accompanying the music of Prince will be live performances by Pelaiah Auset, Bojah, Terry Orlando Jones and myself along with a fashion show by the always spectacular House of Nahdra! Creating space will be Shiba and special “Prince Party” oils will be available for purchase as well as original creations by Ankana. Raffles and other wonderful activities will make this event as memorable as the ones before it. It’s a yearly tradition, and the time has returned again! Come and enjoy the love!
Soulkore’s longstanding open mic runs monthly at the Milky Way with a very special Zulu Nation gathering scheduled for Thursday, July 2nd. Mark your calendars and save the date!
We thank you DJ Nomadik for keeping Boston fresh and fly!
