Stone Soup Servings Presents: Clay Ventre

Stone Soup Servings is a regular series for Oddball Magazine that features upcoming performers at Stone Soup Poetry, the long-running spoken word venue in the Boston area that has recently partnered with Oddball Magazine. Stone Soup Poetry meets from 8-10 p.m. every Monday at the Out of The Blue Art Gallery at 106 Prospect Street with an open mike sign-up at 7:30 p.m.

On March 17, we feature Clay Ventre, one of the organizers of the Zig Zag Poetry Open Mic. The poem below was previously published by YesNo Press in ZigZag Folios Vol. 1.

Ella

Ella was
all over the place

with a tipsy-tipsy

soul

on tippy-tippy

magpie shoes

with piano-bar
cleavage
(all tassel-ended, for sure)

and giggles of
ridicu-lousity

   I heard she cracked-open a book once
   (once)
and lipstic-pucker-laughed

all the way to
GoneMissingVille
(happily)

and lingers there
still
