I will give you all the drop cloths of process
for every gilded frame.
I will give you each rough draft, the note
book sketches, the leaves of such pages
scribbling the artistry of life.
I will keep them loose, all these proofs
showing the roominess in their mirrors
& where you are reflected whole
with importance in that composition.
I will deliver your dreams back to you,
tear drop cleansed by lightning laughter.
I’ll bring in faith as an eye dropper
to the malnourished bird.
I’ll show the enlarging, sing of its praise,
the passion of tape, of paper clips
between you & I, this air, these lines
that bind.
