I Know the Bully

as I crave the scent of turpentine
to melt away the gum in my hair
wishing I could amputate some fingers
under my fanned out dress
as I pose for polaroids,
I confessed to stealing the 5 bucks
for rolling rock nips
and scaring the rooster
so he’d chase my mother,
I was masked as I entered it on my tax return
never got evicted, hearing my babes cry for food.

The never Trump Witches are on the hunt
they see the King with no clothes
as they put spells on toilets and sinks,
but don’t worry, it’s just criminal (like)
we’ll find enough water
to ready you, for Curglaff
please don’t let it dominate
the last moments of your life
we’ll use the thickest chain,
and the largest rock
less of a shock,
still, you’ll experience anxiety
being unable to breathe
as you die alone,
then off to the refrigerated truck
for the morgue has overflowed,
don’t be afraid
“It is what it is.”

Sharon Ferrante: “An emerging poet living in New York, published in several anthologies, and literary magazines. Finding myself in the realest place I’ve ever been, with an insane dictator who wishes to be king, though not caring for any life but his own.”
