thirty-two days before the election
simulating a prophet, teacher. failing an unpleasant chore. caused by a force he invited, coddled. breathless, posing for the right side of his father love. he’s up there. you are alone. make your way, make your death. keep your eyes, keep your ears. chaotically we will plant you.
devoured will be your thoughts. they will not honor laments with compassion. fools, they will cast mourners into the pit, the home of ghost sailors led awry. you learned nothing. you, a buffoon of a chief, will perish as a plague. slow, stirring, begging for the grace you do not justify. we shall strike you from the record.
the fate of the romans
fish run through the water to perish. carrying life to the basin. the river’s forthcoming. the entrance to man’s dancing on the rocks, sprinkled as a trail. the romans set stronger stones. built a coliseum that remains. who killed caesar? cobblestone tracks, rough and demanding, are our sovereignty. copied. democracy copied. dying.
fate planned by moments. shoved and dragged by opportunity. swinging from the sky by strands. an angel’s wing exclaims, “destiny is an unsettled promise”. a delusion, and not by casualty. sent to mankind by our own invention. the formulation of a god and government.
