Winter Light

A spark in the darkness,
reflected by myriad crystals
floating through frigid air,

Warmth in gelid reserve,
Crisp crunches crush underfooting
Guided through an arctic,

Spiced, hot cinnamon
Captured by crackles
Reminding of home,

Peaceful, primed, practiced poise
Radical, ready to flame
Yet caught by wick and glass

Set in our window
An entreaty, a North Star
Beckoning you home.
