Poem by Janaya Martin

Curvature

My curves have given way to empty space.
At night, two pillows
one head

space

to remind me that living takes effort.

My curves have given way to light.
Today, for the sun
I am living on purpose
trying to remind you
that there is a key,
that fits the lock…

try the door.
