Avoiding the Moose
Chimed in the spectacle,
We are born to be
dysfunctional.
Echoed security, serenity—
All false in the view
of the
silent
observer…
The lakes, rivers,
oceans and streams
never issued life as sacred.
What I know is I
never wanted to feel…
so much angst.
Bemused with sadness…
–got to—

Dan Provost’s poetry has been published throughout the small press for a number of years. He is the author of ten chapbooks/books-his latest, Under the Influence of Nothingness was released by Kung Fu Treachery Press a month ago. He also has another collection, Rattle of the Realizer, published by Whiskey City Press out in late May He lives in Berlin, New Hampshire with his wife Laura and the dog, Bella.
Poet/Photographer Jennifer Matthews’ poetry has been published in Nepal by Pen Himalaya and locally by the Wilderness Retreat Writers Organization, Midway Journal, The Somerville Times, Ibbetson Street Press and Boston Girl Guide. Jennifer was nominated for a poetry award by the Cambridge Arts Council for her book of Poetry Fairy Tales and Misdemeanors. Her songs have been released nationally and internationally and her photography has been used as covers for a number of Ibbetson Street Press poetry books and has been exhibited at The Middle East Restaurant, 1369 Coffeehouses, Sound Bites Restaurant in Somerville and McLean Hospital.
