For Ray

She has the clothes that made the man
A gray and white flannel shirt, the pocket
Swollen from his eyeglass case
A pair of Levi’s that got too big, despite
The new belt and the hand-made notch.
A clean, white T-shirt folded just so
And placed on top, left for morning
On the chair by the bed.
Nothing has been moved,
Not once. Even in this month of Sundays.
