We are Boston Strong
We are one Boston, WE ARE BOSTON STRONG
Where I’m from
You are taught not to fold
We will run
Until our sneakers sound like thunder across the globe
Together we stand tall
With the courage that our first responders showed
Risking their lives
To save the ones of people they didn’t even know
Gotham City had Batman, but we turn to each other
With a bond stronger than brothers
Running to help those that didn’t deserve to suffer
Showing the compassion and love of a mother
True heroes among us bleeding the American colors
We are one Boston, WE ARE BOSTON STRONG
Let that call ring from the finish line on Boylston
Until it echoes along the streets of heaven
Heard from every corner of Boston
Louder than sirens flying through an intersection
Make that voice hit every hospital wing
Delivering strength to those with severe injuries
Breathe hope in every possible thing
Shine a light on the unbelievable display of humility
To donate blood runners ran two miles
After they ran twenty six point two
Doctors were vital in the survival
How many more lives would we have lost without you
Acts of heroism citizens carrying victims to safety
Holding open wounds to stop the bleeding
Making home made tourniquets during the insanity
That kept more people breathing
Heroes rose up
Like it was their call to duty
Running towards the place that was blown up
Like it was a bad scene out of movie
Teardrops mixed with blood painted the concrete burgundy
An attack on the city where the first flag was flown
Birthplace of the revolution against tyranny
The city that I call my home
We are one Boston, WE ARE BOSTON STRONG
The bombs at the marathon
Left terror beyond a couple of dawns
A couple hundred injured staying strong
With an entire city praying for them and the four people gone
There’s no place where this evil belongs
Never mind in my hometown
A tight knit community willing to shut down
Until that coward was found
Floating on solid ground
In Watertown
Hiding inside of a boat probably hoping he drowned
And I’ve never been a fan of the boys in blue
But I can’t imagine what they had to go through
While I was on a couch glued to the tube
There was no telling what peril they were stepping into
Before the breaking news
Suspect number two subdued
We are one Boston, WE ARE BOSTON STRONG
We are the land of the free and the home of the brave
I salute the stars, stripes and the red white and blue
Proud to be standing on the land where America was made
Where the first shots that eventually brought freedom to me and you
I will never forget Patriots day in two thousand and thirteen
For the selfless acts I saw in the beautiful people from my country
The amazing work of the Federal agents, Fire fighters and Police
EMTs, Doctors and Nurses of our city
We are one Boston, WE ARE BOSTON STRONG
For the brave citizens
We are one Boston, WE ARE BOSTON STRONG
For those that were injured in this senseless act
We are one Boston, WE ARE BOSTON STRONG
For Krystal Campell, Martin Richard, Lingzi Lu and Sean Collier
We are one Boston, WE ARE BOSTON STRONG
