Nothing brings me joy.
I don’t have anything
but you.
I don’t have her.
I have you.
It all can be gone in a second
I hold on, hoping it gets better.
Life likes to dance with me.
Test me, try me.
It never lets me in.
I stand alone, broke.
My mind chained.
Others run to the source.
I stay away from the well.
I don’t drink from the cup.
I handle this storm inside
without a release.
I stick to the corner away from
the scene.
The sun has set on me.
It feels like death.
I still live to tell you bedtime stories.
