How are you? I am fine.
I want to let you know
that you make me feel
like I don’t matter.
I want to let you know
that I am done trying
to be your friend.
I realize you have millions
of other friends.
I don’t need your
serotonin blast,
dopamine seduction.
I don’t want to
let you know how I feel.
I don’t want to because
you don’t let me in.
Social Media, are you crying?
Social Media, how are you?
Do you feel used.
Do you want to say something?
Are you sick of being
everyone else’s
sounding board.
Do you feel hurt?
Has anyone liked
your Facebook page?
How many tweets
on your birthday?
I feel your sadness.
You give and give,
and they take and take.
And all you wanted
was a friend.
No one likes you,
social media.
They use you.
And no one really
takes you seriously.
I understand you,
Social Media,
I will like your page
and comment on your food.
