I never wanted
any of this.
Did not know
I would be
up to my eyelids
In bullshit.

Meds, bills
and depression.
Complaints,
Alcoholics,
Aggression.

Funerals,
memorials, ‘
holidays
that leave
me empty.

Losses, wins,
more losses
than wins.
A haunted house,
some friends,
many enemies.

A broken brain,
a broken tree,
a broken heart.
Some timid memories,
every night
a night terror,
the only joy,
a little coffee.

An endless
sight unseen,
a pleasant misery.
Writing
a love letter
to the ghost
Inside me.

Waiting
for an awakening.
