Jagged Thought #195: Poem for Michael

As I write this to you, you are unconscious.
They say that it doesn’t look good.
They say that it might be nearing the end.

I say hold on.
Please hold on.

Take all of your strength.
And hold on.

27 years is not that long.
I don’t think you have had enough time.

Please hold on.

I have hope that you will wake up.
That you will shake this off.
That you will open your eyes.
I hope that you will.

This is not the last time.
The last time I see or talk to you.
The last time I hear your laugh.
Or give you a hug.
This is not the last time.

They say it looks bad.
Please hold on.

Love Jason.
