Slow Public Transportation and Politicans
Traveling on mass transit in Boston
like playing cards with a marked deck
(and the deck ain’t yours)
surrounded by sharks
while waiting to hear back
from the candidate you voted for.
Traveling on mass transit in Boston
like watching your ship/train/plane slip away
like hearing the clock tick
but the hands never move
like watching frozen molasses
listening to broken promises
as you stand in place
aging ungracefully while waiting
for the next broken promise.
The Questions
I saw a hospital sign that asked the question “Do you hate how you look?”
The sign was for the hospital’s treatment program.
Now just imagine a sign with the question, “Why do you hate how others look?”
Directed towards those who wear their sheets in public.
