Wonder why things don’t change
or why change happens sooooo slow?
Listen to those messages
that keep the world spinning
in the same direction.

During the Impeachment hearings:
Congressmen addressed each other as peers,
introduced each other in a specific manner,
Title prefaced by the name of Congressman,
followed by the state.

the introductions took
a consistently odd twist
as the Congressmen addressed
the Congresswomen.

Suddenly the title Congresswoman
was replaced by the words “Young Lady from…”
followed by Name of state.

Insulting and insane
hearing a Congressman
address Nancy Pelosi
or any other Congresswomen
not by the title of their position
but as girls, little women.

Weeks later, listening to radio host (guy)
interview guest (guy) about how music
was selected for a special project.
Guest response: “Well I thought
what kind of music are guys producing?”

How would the outcome have changed
if frame of reference had been open?
If the question asked was reframed,
reshaped with a big dose of reality
and less ego/habit.

What outcomes would be birthed
if the question asked was
“What kind of music
are artists/people “producing?”

Sadly, change feels more
like an overused noun
as opposed to a verb.

Power rests/resides with the rich and powerful
who are rich because they have power
and powerful because they are rich.
Rich get rich,
the poor get poorer,
cha ching!
