Ever wish you didn’t
get in you own way
so much?

But who
could have
stopped you?

A train on the tracks
moving faster than light?
The proverbial bat from hell?

Stubborn,
more stubborn
than stubborn.

Missing
all
God’s signals,

Hellbent
to do things
your way or no way!

Holding on
to grudges
that only weigh you down

and leave you in
the damnedest, loneliest
places in the universe!

But,
you reason,
that same stubbornness

is also what
kept you alive
when everything disappeared

and the biggest bully
went after the smallest
kid at home.

Ever wish
things
were different?
