In the midst of confusion
I found pieces of me
that I had forgotten,
took for granted,
had filed away in small places.
Memories,
lessons learned,
unlearned.

A love for life
and for people I have found
and those I have yet to meet
while struggling to forgive
the fools I have known.

The later being
the most difficult
task, for these are those
who are committed
to forever birthing
lies, perpetrating injustices.

The reality is
they are fools who see
themselves as geniuses.
Their only inspiration
is greed and envy.

At such times,
the only choice is to forget.
Some wounds are so deep that
forgiveness is not an option.
At such times, you just walk away.
