Haiku
         by “Clear Dew” Ibuse

Climbing six meters,
along the long pecan fence,
white flowering pear.

Haiku

A giant, white wraith
over the auburn fence looms:
white flowering pear.

Haiku

Before the leaves show,
the white five-petaled flowers
shower in the breeze.

In the Metroplex,
petals on dry, gray-brown boughs,
thousands and thousands.

“Clear Dew” Ibuse is a poet of Japanese forms in English. The haiku, at its height (17th -19th centuries) kept seasons; time for the Japanese. Whereas we rely digitally to mark daylight savings time, the flowering pear tree marks it naturally. The above haiku, plays off of Modernist Ezra Pound’s “In a Station of the Metro”, one of the first haiku-like poems in English literature. The population of the Metropolitan Statistical Area is approximately 6,300,000.

Haiku
         by E “Birdcaws” Eule

The alarm turns on,
sparrow, vireo and thrush,
automatic’lly.

E “Birdcaws” Eule is a haiku poet whose focus is birds. This last weekend was the unnaturaldaylight savings time. The Sun is not where it’s supposed to be at noon. Though we know more, in many ways, than the ancients were much more attuned to the cycles of the Earth, the movement of the Moon and planets, and the presentation of the stars.

Haiku

White flowering pear,
blue sky, auburn-varnished fence:
natural TV.

Haiku
         by “Wired Clues” Abe

The brown leaves scatter,
cross garden, ground, and new growth.
A plastic ghost flies.

Haiku
         by “Wired Clues” Abe

They flap in darkness—
white, plastic bags, thick stickers,
ghosts in the shadows.

French cherry jelly
on hard, crisp, seven-grained toast:
tasted, belly, ghost.

The Führer of the Future
         by Lu “Reed ABCs” Wei

As China’s CCP transnational crime syndicate,
excitedly makes deals to put nations into debt,
who will they target next—Tibet, Hong Kong, Mongolia?
Perhaps they’d like to take Taiwan, or more of India.
The scarlet dragon plods along with dreams of tyranny.
What will be next when they annex the Greater China Sea?
Who will they target then? Will they buy US businessmen?
or even upper members of the US government?
As China eagerly continues Uyghur labour camps,
the World turns a blind eye to them with approving stamps
He is the savior surgeon of the cancerous Xinjiang;
the Führer of the future, hail, despot Xi Jinping.

Lu “Reed ABCs” is a poet of China.. The poet Wang Zang, poet of post-1985 generation remains in prison in China.

who caused more pain by hiding stats of China virus death,
like Xi Jinping, the Wuhan flu grew greater with each breath.
North to Alaska, Biden’s team held talks with the Chinese,

The Antikythera Mechanism
         Euclidrew Base

The intellectual capacities of ancient men,
as in Antikythera Mechanism’s ranging ken,
amaze, astound, they are profound, their expertise was such,
as cannot be sufficiently apprised or praised too much,
though their imperfect, engineering ingenuity
shows knowledge and technology to an awesome degree.
Mechanical computer, process of Parmenides,
and fine, bronze gears combine to make a fancy orrery
of Saturn, Jupiter and Mars, Sun, Venus, Mercury,
designed and factor primed with accurate economy.

Euclidrew Base is a poet of science and mathematics.

In a Yoga Pose
         by Bruce Lee Wisda

Although he felt so low and mean, he wanted to be high.
He longed to be both good and fine, up gazing at the sky.
The door was closed; its walls were drab; he didn’t have a thing;
yet he got in a yoga pose. O, what could his mind bring?
He leaned against a tannish wall, his seat, a chair of air.
He felt within the presence of a god, though none was there.
He barely had a thing at all due to his circumstance;
he stretched up still and tall, but felt like he was in a dance.
He meditated on the situation he was in.
He turned his head up to the left; his head began to spin.

Gung Ho Gung Fu
         by Bruce Lee Wisda

In 1958, he was the Cha-Cha champion guy;
Bruce Lee was sent to the US to stop street-fighting fights.
In 1964 he started teaching martial arts;
eventu’lly some students were celebrities and stars.
He came back from a spinal injury, fought Wong Jack Man,.
and accidentally beat up rising actor Jackie Chan.
Though Hollywood became enamoured of his character,
he often was too fast to capture on their cameras.
He said a wise man can learn more from some fool’s question than
a fool could ever learn from the wise answer of a man. man

Bruce Lee Wisda is a poet of Chinese martial arts. Bruce Lee (1940-1973), for whom he was named was an 20th century actor and martial arts figure.

This Moving Stasis
         by Sri Wele Cebuda

e formed an OM; he felt at home, along a winding road;
and then he found him riding there, although he never strode.
And then it seemed he was the road itself beside a stream.
If this were not reality, it would be as a dream.
He held on to that thought as long as he was able to,
and then he concentrated on another point of view.
He looked down at the hills below that spilled nearby the creek;
they billowed up, like fluffy clouds that floated cheek to cheek.
He tried to hold this moving stasis, but it whirled away,
and then he woke up in the room tomorrow’s yesterday.

Sri Wele Cebuda is a poet of meditation.

Statius Status
         by Aedile Cwerbus

What criminals has sleep unleashed to plague my nightly peace?
What miserable error have I done to ban sweet ease?
When even wild beast and curving tree seem fast asleep,
why am I wakened with the horrors of you darkest deeps?
When fiercest rivers glide along, and quiet is the sea,
whose waves roll on and snore on shores in silence blissfully.
O, seven times my eyes observe, the Moon in borrowed light,
stare at the Evening Star above Oeta in the sky
and Venus climbing over Paphos in the Morning’s sigh,
why must Aurora hear my roar, when Dawn replaces Night?

Aedile Cwerbus is a poet of ancient Rome, like Statius.

The Hidden Man
         by Wilbur Dee Case

He was one of so-called New Journalism’s pioneers,
though writers, like Defoe. began such many years ago.
Like Hersey, he refrained from putting himself in his words,
so much so he kept pictures of himself off of his works.
His writing craft comprised four drafts—research to finished text—
like Nabokov, his lexicon was rich and finely flexed.
A writer born in Princeton, in New Jersey—John McPhee—
he also later taught at Princeton University.
His topics are eclectic, almost miscellaneous,
eccentric only in their span, but not extraneous;
they are the topics he himself was interested in,
from sports to energy, geology to quests of men.

Wilbur Dee Case is a poet of Middle America. Daniel Defoe (1660-1731) was a British writer and journalist. John Hersey (1914-1983) was a mid-20th century new journalist. Vladimir Nabokov (1899-1977) was a Postmodernist Russian-American novelist and poet.
