I’ve missed you Odno-flu-signdball! Trust no one ever foresees the hidden surprises life makes sure to deliver. At the start of the year I was rocking the promises I made to my body, mind and soul. Then The Flu arrived at my immune system, shut her down and made me take a timeout from living. After nearly 4 weeks of enduring and recovery, I cautiously declare, I’M FREEEEEEEEE!!!

I freestyled this piece after my ER visit declaring me past the worst of it. The worst of it was straight up feeling trapped inside my own body. Pure misery

Health is one of, if not the, most important gifts we should care for. I wish you all a flu free winter! AND HELLO 2017!!

For someone with the flu
I’m in great shape
Once this flu goes through me
I’m in great shape
I can circle back
To my starting point
Since I’m over the obstacle
I can circle back to my starting point

Because I remember where I began

For someone with the flu who hasn’t eaten in 4 days, has gone through delirium in solitude

I feel great

For someone concerned about whether I was going to wake up in the morning
Hoping someone would check on me make sure at least I was snoring

I’m wide awake

I’m doing great for someone with the flu

I’ve never known death this closely
At least that’s what the flu felt like for me

They say it’s behind me
I don’t believe it

I’m going to circle back to my starting point

That’s when I will believe it
When I know there will be no obstacle
And I continue to achieve it

What I began at my starting point
Before the flu made its point and knocked me ou

Purged me of doubt
Put my head in a cloud I have never known

Waking up alone

Having to face it alone

Knowing I can
So I did
And I have

I’m on my way back with a whole lot of facts

I am now aware of you Flu and all the danger you do
So I thank you

And I thank You 4 Corners, as you watched me pull through
Perspective anew.
