May I see you at your softest?
She asked herself.
You’ve seen strong
Seemed strong
You’ve seen devastated
Recovered
You’ve seen enraged
Spiteful
You’ve seen betrayed
Afraid
You’ve never seen soft
Childhood memories won’t send back pictures of you like that
Innocence has no contrast to seek
Youth in growth knows no harsh other than
Tantrums
This isn’t an internet challenge
Just a request from a stranger
Ask yourself if You’ve ever met yourself
Soft
May I see you at your softest
Unafraid peaceful not vulnerable but so trusting
Fearlessly
Softly
Not seductively or sensually
Not silk or satin
An uncovered shivering Courage
Soft
Soft like you’ve never battled
Soft like you’ve never cried
Soft like you’ve never worried
Soft like you don’t know how close you’ve come to death
How many goodbyes you’ve said because of death
How close you’ve been to anguish
How closely drugs and alcohol have covered
Hard Times
May I see you at your softest
May I meet Her
Alive
Hopeful of gifts she can’t explain because they have no name
No shape
Just finding their way
As you lay
Softly in your
Softest
Exuding Grace
Settling finally into Her Place
At a softening pace
Introducing Yourself to your Softest Face
And See intentionally
Who You Are Meant To Be
Soft
Like the kiss shores receive
There is power in decelerating
And celebrating
Now’s Power.
Softly.
