This day began with a dream memory of You
The Only You
Reaching for my hand
See
While we mingled as single
I knew
It was You.
You knew
It wasn’t me
So with all dignity
We said peace
Friendship wasn’t on your menu
So your peace was a final adieu
Which was best for me
For me it was You
I knew
And You are not capable of leading on
And I am not capable of turning feelings off
Or switching modes
I opened the door
To welcome You in
But my space was not where You belonged
You felt
So years pass
And I still think of our path
Your laugh
And wish You well with gratitude for the rhythm Your life beats onto
          my heart
The Only You.
My dream state decided to have me face the lingering hope I have
         &nbspburied
Desires of reciprocity
The deeper I dig the more exposed becomes my rope
I like the challenge of a No.
Although You deserve all of this praise
Clutched pearls at the memory of Your face
My dream state teased with the fantasy of Your reaching for Me
Deciding the decision You made may have been too soon
I swooned
At Your reach.
Your Power, Old Stranger
Is in the Strength Your every individual act and form show
Even in Your vulnerability
There is a power that speaks
Secure.
You are so sure.
So this hope attached to a rope that lands in comfortability where I
         &nbspam not wanted
Habits formed by years of being kept by vampires and codependency
I recognize
With full gratitude
That I crossed paths with You
You Gentle Giant of Mountain Stature
In Your own loving way
Were kind to my impulsivity
And did not choose Me
Teaching Me
How to Choose Me.
Thank You J.
