I was the Featured Poet at Stone Soup on Monday, April 20 and met both Chad Parenteau and Jason Wright then. I’m very grateful for that evening! This is the first piece I read that night and I dedicate it to Confident Truth Holders.

Mercury RetroWhoops

I heard I heard I heard

The truth

The set up

The candela

I heard I heard I heard

Whispers echoing as closed mouths morph into turned backs and matters of fact return to exact

The point

The point is not

I heard I heard I heard

The point is

Clearly viewed from the points of view of The Those There

Some of The Those There

Choose non-participatory whispers

It’s not actions speaking louder than words

It’s words activating Action

I heard I heard I heard

Is merely a fraction

Of Root.

It’s a forest out there of many branches and different fruits and flowers in bloom at the base of heights

Heights remaining out of sight

Low level knuckle dragging cave grunts

I heard.

I bring my picnic basket and lay on greener grass

It’s on the other side of smoldering lips

Guess what’s for dinner?

The Truth.

I know I know I know.

Your secret’s safe with me.
