ERATO muses her Second Year Opener this Saturday, August 20th welcoming Boston DJ and Producer, KCIV alongside ERATO Residents, T.C.C.!

KC is deep!!! “For 20+ years K Civ (aka DJ KC Hallett) has brought healing, empowerment and joy to many lives through music. As he stays true to the House music sound he also has a love for Jazz, R&B soul, D&B, Techno, Reggae, Disco Classics, Global Soul, etc. His ear for music and appreciation of sounds from all over the world keeps him at the top of the list for tastemakers and his passion keeps him ahead of the time. He is the creator of a highly watched blog and chart, by some of the biggest names in the industry. As a producer his edits have gained recognition and placed him among the elite on the scene.”

ERATO please welcome KCIV to the decks and revisit the deepest with a glorious back to the top. Inspired House Music to bodies ablaze, this is ERATO!

DJ Mystina and DJ Dende, the two who are T.C.C., shared with my questions these heartfelt words. DJs who love music. ERATO, Congratulations on Year 2!

What have you enjoyed about ERATO in her first year?

I’ve enjoyed seeing the growth each month. Seeing those dedicated dancers come each month and never miss a date. Seeing a crowd there at the end of the night still wanting more when the lights come on. Seeing everyone smiling and being excited to be sharing space with each other hugging up all on each other. The love. I enjoy all the feedback we get each month from those who attend. We are that new hype party that doesn’t sound like a familiar Boston party. A mini shelter or funkbox as they’ve said. Knowing Erato is the new dance haven with mostly my generation in attendance is awesome and more come each time.

What do you hope to bring to Boston’s House Scene with ERATO?

I hope to bring Boston growth. Growth within the music always providing the scene new sounds. Growth within the scene making Boston the place where everyone must go to party. You see people travel to New York and New Jersey all the time from different states just to dance at some of the most legendary parties. That’s what I want to do for Boston with Erato. I see it happening. I want to bring growth within DJs, leading by example that love is the only way. To headline the dope djs that MOVE ME because I am a dancer first and then a DJ. If you can move me then I love you because I know for a fact Erato will love you too. And finally growth within the dancers. For the past few years being in this scene I have always been the youngest at every event. I want to change that. I refuse to let this scene die with the older generation. So my mission is to revive this underground scene and fill it with my generation and the next when the time comes.

Are you enjoying your residency and are there any guests you’d have back or would love to bring to the city?

I am absolutely loving my residency. It’s always special to me spinning next to my soulmate. It’s even more special creating an atmosphere for the dancers where when they walk in its nothin but real love and positive energy vibrating through those walls. Since my residency I have seen myself grow as a DJ. I have also seen the power I have with the music on my fingertips. I will never forget that night that young lady came to me crying saying she was dancing in front of the Erato banner and balling her eyes out the entire time. I felt bad and apologized and instead she told me “no, this was needed! I felt liberated!” I did that? Was all I kept asking myself and even now I still ask myself that. Wow. I’m also loving sharing decks with other guest djs. There are definitely djs I want to bring back. House head Pete! I need him on again! Jihad Muhammad! Bringing him for the anniversary event and knowing Dende and I did that on our own makes me SOOO proud of US! Boston was not ready for him and I continuously warned everyone to be ready! Now they want him back! It is no secret Jihad is my all time favorite DJ and producer. No one can move me like him. He will be back to Erato.

I might make him our permanent guest for each anniversary we reach! There are 3 more djs I want to bring down that to me, as a dancer first, are HUGE!

I want to bring to Boston the djs that I love. Not the djs that got a hot track out this month. No. Only the djs that I know will rock Boston. We are here to DANCE! And dance hard is what we do! Those djs I will keep secret though. We will keep them as a surprise for the dancers.

What are you looking forward to in Season 2?

For season 2 I just want Erato to continue being successful just like it was her first year. Continue growing. Continue staying live. Continue being our underground dance haven. I’m looking forward to seeing new faces each and every month. To hearing “word on the street is Erato is the place to be” as I have been hearing the past few weeks already. I look forward to bringing new sounds and new DJs. Popping Bostons cherries with the new djs they probably never heard of yet but once they hear them, they’d go insane just as they did with Jihad. All I will say is… BOSTON! ERATO BOSTON! BE READY!

We’d love to see you this Saturday, August 20th at Club Bohemia for ERATO with KCIV and The Couples Couple for a very musically special night! 738 Mass Ave, Cambridge. Doors open at 9 p.m. / 21+ ~ $10 all night! #S2 #SUPPORTYOURLOCALDJS #ANDTASTEMAKERS #HOUSEMUSIC #ROCKON
