Love
Once upon a time
I thought I knew everything about love
I thought it was all about
Being there for him
Loving him
Caring for him
Being honest with him
Through the good times
And through the bad times
No, it goes deeper than that.
Its long hours of wrestle
Soaked with sweat
Out of breath looking at the mess
While in the middle of a conversation
Talking about out future together
Building together
To months of lonely travels
To Years in a solitary confinement
Dreaming about him
Turning into nightmares when I wake up and don’t see him
Laying right next to me
As time goes by
With his mood swings
His fictitious laughter
With his anger and insecurities
And the back and forth of if he wanted to be with me or not
If he even trusted in me or not
I learned patience
I learned that when a man wants to be with you
He utters the words in your ears saying “I love you”
Showing you that he loves you
By picking up the broken pieces off the ground that was left of you
Molding them together to become a great masterpiece
To being a better reflection of him
(Singing) and if I am a reflection of him
Then I must be fly because he’s light it shine so bright I wouldn’t lie
We both learned patience
True love is patience
