In My Room

Soldier’s home
Moonless night
Black

Surrounded by enemy silence
Machines hum like jailbirds
Fixing to riot

Words and images
Soft melodies
Sweat and fog

Triangulated candle glow
Stress in the cross hairs
Busted

 

Stacy Esch lives and works in West Chester, Pennsylvania, teaching English at West Chester University. Digital art and photography are the twin passions that compete alongside her interest in writing, reading, songwriting, and gardening.
