The always late trains and the men in rugs asleep,
hidden within the dirty shadows.
The people seeking refuge and the sea swallowing bodies.
The rude shoving for a bus seat,
the presidents of powerful countries at constant war.
The kind hand grazing the soft fur of a stray black cat,
the rich blaming the poor for their bad days.
The late blooming of yellow daisies and the too early summer,
the rains turning city streets into rivers,
even as the oceans break.
