Leopards and the governor

The leopard attacks
Were merely bothersome
But the governor
Demanded
Flame-throwers
“No jungle no leopards”
He said in a broad accent
No-one recognized

Nobody remembered voting
For the governor
Rumours circulated online that
Rumours of an election
Weren’t just rumours
They were factual online chats

There were no flame-throwers handy
The overfed leopards
Simply left
The governor claimed victory
