Cold War 2.0

How fortunate we were to have 30 years without worry of the world ending!

The Cold War with a hot war we watched on our tv screens has a sequel
A new cold war with a hot war we watch on our phones

You can watch helicopters explode on the ground
You can watch an apartment high-rise on fire
You can watch the skies light up over Kyiv

You can share a music video of Bayraktar drones destroying tanks
You can share a video of a young girl in a bomb shelter singing
“Let It Go” from Disney’s Frozen
You can share photos of soldiers with cats on their shoulders

You can sigh or sob
You can say a prayer
You can sign an e-petition
You can write a poem
You can PayPal a charity
Join a candle-lit online solidarity gathering
Even write a song called “Eve of Destruction II”
