“Out of Body” © Bonnie Matthews Brock
Lift
for Riley Jaspers
When final obstacle is you,
the answer is keep moving,
keep twenty paces ahead,
force body to catch up.
On the beach, God knows
you want to be specialist,
carry yourself up to where
feet weren’t meant to mark.
Contain all the multitudes
and bring them together
into one creative call
and finally grow wings.
