Requiem 4:57

The sky is tearing apart
And the grace of our fingers cannot fix it,
But the ephemeral touch keeps me alive
For fleeting moments
Where our heartbeat defies the torn horizon.

The stars are burning
And the moon drowns in melancholy,
But the whisper of the wind
Carries your voice
To warm us when the sun is dead.

We are one in the destruction around us,
Spirits encircle our being,
Ember lanterns fading
In evanescent moments
Of a gentle embrace.

The sky tears itself in half,
Wilting moments have withered in the past.
Our fingertips grace away,
Pulled apart by the frayed sky
And the collapse of a galaxy,
Where our fleeting heartbeat dies
In the torn horizon.
