I am concentrating
On a flower
A pretty blue flower
With purple seeds

With purple seeds
That will flower new flowers
And flower new flowers
Till a garden is grown

And children play within
The garden gate
And they find salamanders
And night crawlers

On days it rains
And when it rains too long
The puddles grow larger
And the children jump

just like we would jump
in them

puddles

My wide eyed child’s life
yellow
On these rainy nights
I remember jumping
With big green boots

They kept my feet so warm

But now
I don’t feel
So warm
I feel numb
Maybe not
Numb
But definitely
Not dry.
