I’m so tired
Can barely form a sentence
Who represents us?
The 99 percent or the percent of 99 percent that have to take medicines to remain sane,
Keeping genius behind glass doors.
And locked in cages
Brain cells shocked to complacence
Waiting for the next chance to smoke a cigarette
The tired look of angry faces
Spent by the thoughts
You take your silence for granted
And get uprooted while they keep us planted
I listen in stereo to the negativity inside me
Only loosened by the drum beat and the words I create as I type next to the cold sober faces of
suits and ties
Businessmen
There is a story here
Manic Monday Tuesday and I’m hungry
Not just because my stomach rumbling
Says find a window
More like the anger of keeping inside all this, trying to let it go
But when though?
The nine minutes before I fall asleep the rewound
Day begins to unravel
And I sit and close my eyes
And open them and
I exist within a minute
And minutes later
I am doing the same thing
The jam-packed train
The hamster wheel
That feeling I am losing something
Bigger then me
The feeling I wish I was
Real
Gravitating towards an ending
Running towards my savior
You.
Leaving behind myself on graffiti laced walls
The subway graveyards
I love only 5/5th’s of you
You who loves me for my faults
My failures, my eyes strain
To see you for what you are
Are you my summer or fall
I am 3% of the 99%
Does this make me nothing at all?
I Exits
I count
I matter
You keep telling me that
You tell me that I matter
That I count
That I exist
SO I will.
Till I fall flat
Or rise above the hypocrites and statisticians
Who measure us not by the weight of our hearts
But the color of our skin
And the depths of our pockets
I exist in a different statistic
I am the percent of the 99%
With mental illness
And I am ready for a revolution
I am ready for a resolution.
I am ready to evolve.
I have value
I love.
I am ready for a revolution.
