Sitting in the library,
I compose a note—
a snapshot
through a quiet lens,
something in me
developing
in the dark.
Be considerate—sound carries,
the sign reminds me.
And I think:
sound has carried me
my whole life.
Music guiding the path—
through crescendos,
through dips,
through the long pauses
that almost swallowed me whole.
Without it,
I would be alone
with bastard silence.
Sound holds me still—-
a brace,
keeping me together.
Like this note.
Like this moment.
Something to consider
as the music continues
to see me through.
