It’s a miracle to breathe in a new day
when you think you have nothing left to give,
when you feel broken to pieces and
no longer want to live.
When you feel like the rain keeps falling
and will never stop raining
or when you are wilted, stunted
and close to breaking.
Or when you are stunted in your recovery
because you are no longer blunted or
in sobriety.
But you can always talk to me
because I am trying to be self less,
less selfish, because when selfish
I’m reckless, so I try to be grateful
for breath.
The best I can do
is pray before breakfast,
take a step back, meditate
and listen to the message.
Try to embrace the day and remain
selfless when so selfish.
That’s how my morning starts
before my first coffee.
Show some gratitude for the day ahead
and try and make the day as
best as it can be.
So if you need someone to talk to,
you got me.
