Iris was a beauty,
eyes baby blue.
Loved as a toddler,
liked in school.
Studied chemistry
in higher Ed.
Met a boy
who was pre-med.
Both of them
started a band.
One played bass,
the other sang.
Found a friend who
could strum some chords,
a beautiful celloist.
Her name was Doris.
And a genius pianist
who liked Mozart and Chopin.
Only one thing was missing
with this band.
So drummers came,
one really could play,
and a band was
created that day.
Iris wrote songs.
Beautiful songs.
Then she died,
and the band played on.
