Today, is the greatest day.
Smash that Pumpkin.
Today is the greatest day.
Smash it.
Push it, Salt and Pepa.
To the limit, Rocky.
Eye of the Tiger, champ.
Today is the day I will breathe
in new life with every breath.
I will join my eyes together
and see death.
Death of self, death of ego,
Death of time.
Rebirth of life, rebirth of cool.
Miles, I have far many mountains
to climb.
Today I will climb mountains.
I will jump hurdles.
I will walk through hurdles.
Hurdles don’t hurt me.
I have felt hurt, but today,
just for today,
I will embrace the vertical.
I will embrace my skin around my bones.
I will feel the space that keeps me lifted.
I will feel the oxygen from the trees
we have left.
I will share the sunlight with you
if you want it.
I will listen to your song
if you sing.
I will share God with you.
if you are willing to feel it.
The gifts of life today
I will share with you
if you give me the chance too.
And in my own light, I see darkness.
And I like darkness because
Sleep is the engine that fuels us.
We run on Dunkin, We exist to sleep.
We long to dream.
We sleep to dream.
We dream to live a life worth dreaming.
Dream with me today my fellow American.
Dream with me today my alien cousin.
Dream with me today my worldly brother.
See the stars with me today.
If we are all one thing James.
Then let me sing your song
however out of tune I may be.
It is all the same song.
Both the terrorist and the librarian
have the same 24 hours.
The politician and the dog walker.
The murdered and the murdered.
The ghostly pale, and the jailed.
The free and the forlorn.
We all have the same 24 hours.
Today I choose books not terror.
Freedom not murder.
Vitality not violence.
Vibrancy and vibration.
Today I will choose my dog
over politics.
