Sweat films
around my brow,
drips onto
my glasses.
Sleep
in my
overactive
mind’s eye.
Can I write?
Tonight?
Have I lost
all sight?
My brain says I
am the enemy,
says I hold misery,
like a mystery,
says I am broken,
in an instant.
Forgiven,
I rise.
No more pain.
I find my tribe.
