Love is,
well what is the definition?
Is it this gift that I am given,
to express myself through written word.
Maybe the gift to be able
to talk it out
when the world gets too tough.
Maybe to be able to let someone in
when you feel you have had enough.
Maybe it’s babies, and dogs
and all that other stuff.
Maybe it’s when you give in
and let your soul out,
Let your mind run wild
with the medicine cabinet
when you slow down and think,
this life, you know I’m not that bad at it.
‘Cause I got poetry, I got a few friends,
and I think that’s what love is.
Whether its a gift
to get through this shit
and just not giving in.
I think that’s what love is.
