Supposedly when the British at siege of Yorktown
marched out to surrender to the revolution (that is
the combined forces of the French and Washington’s
Continental Army) the fife and drum corps played
this song with lyrics from the English Civil War about
when Cromwell in Protestant fervor canceled Christmas
and here we are with Thanksgiving almost upon us
and Agent Orange Head still occupying the White House
(of course) still maintaining he won the election he lost
and the whole Republican Party scary still just continues
to echo chamber his furious delusions and the hoary cult
of MAGA bubbling with this stew of conspiracy theory hate
and contrived grievance bred of their dwindling minority rule
congealing into this lemming charge mass march on the Capitol
their party has controlled for at least the last quarter century
since the “Newt” did his big bad Contract on America 1994
when the current ongoing ever expanding crisis this ecological
thing apparent only obvious only to nut cases like my tiny self
but quite real nonetheless everyone still thought why no go along
to get along go-go times of get-get-get as neo-liberalism was getting
the former USSR as it was sold off to the oligarchs shock therapy
straight from the Chicago School by way of Harvard vintage neo-
colonial theft of the people even as now it’s all come home to us
in the form of minority rule oppressors and Quisling enablers of token
