Instructional designer by day and illustrator by night, Micah Liesenfeld loves making books with pictures. In 2001, he graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a minor in English. He lives with his wife and 2 children in St. Louis, Missouri, U.S.A. His passion is to raise awareness of rare genetic diseases like ataxia telangiectasia, the one his daughter has, in order to find better treatments and increase community support. As such, he has been donating his illustration fees to charities that fund this research. Currently, he’s working on a long form comic about his daughter’s illness which includes problems with her immune system, and her fight to stay well through a challenging time.
