You knew
what you knew
and still ignored
the facts included
in reports
as well as cries
for help from streets,
behind closed doors,
in open doorways.
You chose to ignore
what you knew to be true
with ease
You let it happen
then walked away,
too often in silence
and always
with
disinterest.
