Too stubborn
Too naive
Brought to sweaty palms
Throbbing brain
Tears
Why can’t they see the confusion and mess?
Why do they let the bully rule?
I realize what my friends my friends tried to warn me about
Why fight…Easier to surrender, and they–the people–do
Easier to take the road of least resistance
The apathy is contagious
Resistance takes too much work
Betrayal is savory option

You were right..
Don’t wake them
They prefer sleep
Even on a bed of thorns.
