She sat in the corner
wrapped in coats
surrounded by shopping carts
full of newspapers and cans.
She spoke quickly,
engaged in heated conversations
with people only she could see
about apathy, government, good and evil.
One person walked away
another walked towards her,
dropping some dollar bills into each cart.
At such times, it is difficult to determine
who gave what to whom!
