They now hurl stones
wrapped in paper with string
and attached notes:
We care.
You don’t know how much we care.
We are here for you.

Packages falling from the sky
cracking the cement
displacing soil
exploding into yet smaller fragments
which “they” pray will disappear.

Behind closed doors
you can hear them laughing.
They are waiting for you to be thankful
