Pray before you vote.
Recall those who fought
to keep the process open,
fair and honest.
Pray as you vote
that your vote
will not be “lost,”
that your voice will be heard.
Remember that time,
that Movement,
THE movement,
of souls and minds
mixing politics with prayer,
music with votes and civil rights,
marchers marching in and out
through time
when the world was alive
with sounds of people
walking together
to Washington.
Recall the voices
that reshaped how we be,
the humanity
and spirit
of Martin, Malcolm,
Billie, Miriam, Mother Africa.
Our votes became
our voice.
And the universe
saw something good
on Earth.
Remember that time?
